Girls camp

Pee Dee Girl's Camp

In a previous post I mentioned girl's camp

I went all the way back in June.

When I received the phone call to be asked to be a leader

for girl's camp in my church I was so excited and automatically

Replied: YES

I realized after accepting I hadn't discussed it with my husband

When I told him he was so excited for me.

Glad he packed our sleeping bags.

I would be gone for four days

Al then realized whose going to make my sandwiches?

I told him you'll survive:)

I got to go to information meetings and go to other camp activities with the girls.

Being asked was such a blessing in my life and gave me Tuesday nights to look forward to.

I then realized I hadn't been to girl's camp in 16 years
that's right, I'm getting old.

The Car pool to the camp was fun and I got to see a different part of the state.
Coming back we got off coarse and crossed the North Carolina line.
So I can say I've been in North Carolina.

The girls are so lucky a pool

The pool felt so nice because it was so HOT.
 Inner Tubes on the lake

 Canoeing

 Flag pole each morning.
The girls had the opporunity how to learn to
take down and put up the flag.
Love this girl we bonded over sweets and dried mangos.

The place we met to sing and get ready for our meals.
Learning how to make brownies in the dutch oven.
 Our Five Mile hike
Resting our hike was the hottest day we were at camp.

 Service Project Painting cabins.

Craft Day: Making scarves out of shirts.
Learning how to shoot a bow and arrow.

 Self Defense Class

So grateful for the friendships and people I got to meet
To have a bit of fresh air and be reminded of simple beauties in life.

Isle of Palms

Only One Beach Day in South Carolina

It's a one time memory that will last for many years

In our three months we ventured to the beach once

Due to heavy rain

Al being gone for a week

Car issues

 Amazing house beach rentals

So many places to see on only one day off a week!

The day we went it was windy with light rain

Al set up our little shade tent and we just stayed under cover until it past.

I love the beach and I usually take a walk by myself and pick up seashells

Then Al and I will go for a lighter walk and pick up more seashells

I really wanted to run with this runner:)

Sullivans Island

After a day at the beach we decided to go for a drive and
go exploring.

Discovered this was the first port in the 1700s that dropped off slaves to be sold.
Also ship battlegrounds for the war.
A trail lead us to the beach and we could see Fort Sumter.
Fort Sumter is an island that can only be traveled by boat
we didn't get to see it yet but maybe our next trip to South Carolina.

Overall a really great day...
